A Libyan army official says one of the top military commander’s sons has been injured during an exchange of fire with rivals from another militia.

The official says the son of Gen. Khalifa Hifter was injured Thursday in a confrontation at a Tripoli bank with a militia from the western mountain town of Zintan. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not an official army spokesman.
A spokesman of the Zintan fighters, Khaled al-Zintani, says the general’s son Saddam triggered the clash by trying to enter a bank guarded by the fighters even though he was armed with a gun and a hand grenade. He says Saddam was injured in the leg and was taken to a hospital.Saddam’s brother, Belgassim, accused the militia of abducting him.

It would be advisable to this general and to all those in the military to reign in their kids, who may be, as I suspect ; given the cultural mindset “Entitled” to carry arms and show off their authority.
This news worthy report does not look good. It destracts the General from doing his work, given that he has a lot on his plate.
Remember folks, Nepotism is a powder keg. It can explode, and ordinary Libyans will pay dearly for these mishaps!
Yeah heisham, what a guy doing with a Kalashnikov and grenades doing wandering into a bank without a military assignment?
Zintan better stop the reactionaries cold and take over this “New National Army” .
Zintan opposes the Islamists and the nepotists – Zintan is the revolution, not the Johnny-come-latelys.
” enter a bank guarded by the fighters even though he was armed with a gun and a hand grenade.” – to do what ? Get his bank statement printed? Rob the bank ? What ?? AFP journos, think before you type..
Its idots like this that give a bad name to the Revolution. Amazing how someone who lived abroad still carries the idology of the Gaddafi Era. We do not have room and time for idiots like Saddam; Hifters son.
Where is the Nationalism. Nationalism mean doing what is good for your country and your country comes first.
