Tyrant’s son Al-Saadi Gaddafi threw his best friend in jail for turning down his gay advances.
Reda Thawargi said he was locked up for two and-a-half years before he was released and Saadi begged him for his support to quell the uprising.
Rebels who raided married Saadi’s opulent mansion this week found gay porn DVDs in his office. The sprawling property near Tripoli has its own football pitch and outside disco, as well as an outhouse with three cell-like rooms and a caged building where Saadi is said to have set dogs on people who displeased him.
Reda said: “Saadi is gay. He tried to have sex with me but I refused. I only like girls. So he threw me in military jail.”
Reda was a close friend of the dictator’s son for 13 years.
They both played football for Tripoli’s Al Ahli football club and spent two years together in Italy drinking and partying.
However, Saadi became infuriated by Reda’s refusal to sleep with him and put him on trial in a Libyan court – but without a specific charge. Reda said: “The judge told me, ‘if Saadi says you have done wrong, then you must go to prison’.”
He was eventually freed in February.
Reda added: “When the uprising began Saadi called me to ask me to go on state TV to support him because of my fame as a footballer. I refused and hid away.
“I want to be the first to punch him now. If you find him, tell me.”

Well Hana who some say was either posthumously adopted by Gaddafi or was never killed and is his adopted daughter was “working” in a hospital.
The story of Gaddafi making a sacrifice fed in to the whole image of an Anti Imperialist fighter that he tried very hard to portray. But it was as hollow as him trying to convince us he is a simple man who likes to sleep in a tent! Just check out his planes and palaces!
These are just more reasons to get rid of Qaddafi and his tyrants sons and the rest of his regime. More crimes against humanity and man -hood.
Great comments Fredy and Mohammed and I am sure as you are that none of Qaddafi’s kids have worked an honest day in their lives. The work they have done is spending the people of Libya’s countries wealth and embezzling the oil profits for Qaddafi their father and the rest of the tyrants in leadership positions. definitely they were never for the common every day Libyan.
Yes it is time to bring in some mercenaries and work on taking out the g-force regime tyrants in their secret hiding places. Sounds like some work for the Nay Seals, Marine Reacon, Delta Force, Green Berets, British Commandos, Qatar Special Forces, French Foreign Legion etc…Go get those bastards “men” and Free Libya once and for all and forever.

You’ve been a devoted rebel supporter all along the uprise. I was posting mostly on the other Libya Feb 17 website. I have seen your steady comments supporting the rebels during these 6 months.
This is far from over. Finding Gadaffi is the issue right now. The second part of the battle will be to witness the role of the people of Libya upon the formation of a New Government. The NTC is assigning high positions to former Gadaffi goons without consulting the people’s opinion.
I hope the new Libya will be gay friendly. As someone who has supported your revolution since day one I should be very disappointed if this was not the case.
The comments on this thread are drifting into homophobia or worse. By all means despise Saadi Gaddafi because he is smug, priviliged genocidal asshole; his being gay has nothing to do with that.

Maybe the Libyan’s don’t want to be “gay friendly”. Or maybe they just don’t care about it one way or the other. What, so you and your friends can go down there on holliday to bugger all the young Bedouin boys? Yes, I’m sure that’s what Libyan’s have been dying for: to see Libya as a gay tourist destination for European’s with Arab-boy fetishes.

The point that the article was highlighting was not to highlight his being gay but rather his hypocrisy and cruelty.
Your response to Brian is childish and lacks substance and I regret the few seconds of my time that were wasted by having read it.
You’re merely underscoring the problem with your comments Alex; homosexuality is not pedophilia as your depressingly ignorant posts suggests.
It’s not even your fault. Authoritarian societies or religious systems need targets to distract their followers and the gay community has always been a handy target.
Hopefully the new Libya will rise above all of its unfortunate past; a shrunken, truncated, “heterosexuals only” freedom would serve to demonstrate how much further Libyan society has to go.
