#3 Most Memorable Moment of Feb 17 – Liberation of Abu Salim Prison, Tripoli

One of the most shocking videos of the entire revolution. This is raw video of the freeing of the infamous Abu Sleem Prison. Abu Sleem Prison is the location where the Gaddafi regime has placed his political prisoners for over 40 years, from all parts of Libya – East, West, North, South. It is the location of the Abu Sleem massacre – In which Gaddafi forces killed 1,200 political prisoners in ONE day. And as of recently, it is the location where thousands upon thousands of captured freedom fighters and protesters have been placed since the beginning of the revolution. The only crime these individuals were guilty of was speaking out against the regime. This is their moment of freedom. The sweetest breath of freedom that one could image. All praises to God.

How much joy and excitement these Abu Salim ex-prisoners show on this video.

To all of those who question the Libyan revolution they should remember the Abu Salim prison massacre and the stories of torture . Many Libyans who supported this kind of stuff are now victims of torture as well.

  2. Fredy says:

The Nafussa mountain people protests were not included on the video.

Could U pls clarify “Many Libyans who supported this kind of stuff are now victims of torture as well.” and “The Nafussa mountain people protests were not included” ??
    Thank you for your effort…

  4. Fredy says:

Sparrow there is widespread news that the rebels are torturing to death many prisoners.

There is video here showing all the Libyan cities who protested except the Nafussa mountain people. For some reason there was a mix up. I hope it’s clear to you now.

That’s total nonsense. That is the exaggerated news of the Western MSM,
The Western MSM has an agenda to discredit the revolutionaries and the militias, They, the West, want to set up an repressive elite system , same as the one America has and as Gaddafi had and that elite system will siphon off the oil wealth to the new elite and the American Elite.

The revolutionaries are a threat to Western Elites and Western oil interests and so the West’s MSM are waging a propaganda war against them.

As for simply widespread executing Gaddafi Loyalists, it would be great if that were true but unfortunately it is exaggerated.

It is no crime to execute captured fascists , that is a necessary part of the revolution. The Libyans need to speed up this process – killing the old guard is necessary to ensure the revolution and prevent the old guard from maintaining their repressive economic base through their wealth and connections.
If ownership of the wealth is not transferred to the masses then democracy cannot mean anything and the revolution is usurped and has been in vain.

Their crimes are not so much what they do as what they are – they are a threat to the revolution and must be wiped out.
It is not a crime to execute fascists and the death of any fascist is a victory for all humans everywhere.

The jailers took the keys and they had to use sledgehammers to open the locks. Many of the prisoners shad PTSD and some did not understand immediately that they were being freed.
The most tragic thing was that one of the top prisoners – Daou al-Salhine jailed for a 18 years – was made head of the army and then got killed or assassinated by a rocket strike outside Baniwalid before he too could see the end of Gaddafi.

  7. James Miller says:

Daou al-Salhine was killed in a convoy on a “safe” road outside Baniwalid. It is astronomically impossible that this was an accident. For sure, some traitor radioed the co-ordinates of his car to a Loyalist rocket squad that was waiting in ambush.

I hope they caught this traitor. Daou al-Salhine spent 18 years in prison only to be cheated of life barely a month after he was freed. Daou al-Salhine’s last interview shows he was extremely accurate in his an-alysis of Baniwalid and he predicted exactly how long it would to finish off Gaddafi.
Libya lost a great mind and an intelligent warrior in that ambush.

Just a small comment derived from the Internet:

    ABUSALIM:
1997 Amnesty International Abu Salim report. NO 1270 deaths, NO massacre only SCORES? (They didn’t know? Yet contrived the 1270 figure?)

Amnesty International was wrong that 1270 deaths occurred in 1996 at AbuSalim

    Skull? Abu Salim excavation FAKED!

SAME skull was COPIED from: El Salvador?
1270 Amnesty International WRONG about Abu Salim, ‘WITNESSES’ are WRONG?

LOCKERBIE: Libya not responsible. Here. and Here. and Here. and Here.

UK POLICEWOMAN: Libya not responsible. CIA/MOSSAD?

BERLIN DISCO: Libya not responsible. CIA/MOSSAD?
    ==========
The West have been after Gadaffi since he became the Sovereign Ruler of Libya as they only want ‘puppet’ governments.

Please, in establishing a new Libya, be aware?
